Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

An Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is a facility designed to treat industrial wastewater, also known as effluent, before it is discharged into the environment or reused. ETPs are essential for ensuring that industrial activities do not pollute water bodies or harm the environment.

Preliminary Treatment: Similar to sewage treatment plants, preliminary treatment involves removing large solids, debris, and other visible contaminants from the effluent through processes such as screening and grit removal.

Physical and Chemical Treatment: In this stage, physical and chemical processes are used to remove suspended solids, dissolved organic matter, and other pollutants from the effluent. Common treatment methods include coagulation and flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration.
