Screening and Pre-treatment: Agricultural wastewater often contains large solids, debris, and organic matter that need to be removed before further treatment. Screening and pre-treatment processes such as sedimentation or settling help remove these materials and protect downstream equipment.

Biological Treatment: Many agricultural wastewater treatment systems utilize biological processes to break down organic contaminants and nutrients. Aerobic treatment methods, such as activated sludge processes or aerated lagoons, use oxygen to promote the growth of aerobic microorganisms that metabolize organic matter. Anaerobic digestion, on the other hand, uses bacteria in an oxygen-free environment to convert organic matter into methane gas and stabilized sludge.
